Your itinerary will be customized based on your travel dates and current herd movement to give you the best chance to witness the migration.
Start your Serengeti migration safari with an early drive or flight from Arusha to Seronera, the heart of Serengeti National Park. Along the way, pass through Ngorongoro Conservation Area and enjoy scenic views and wildlife sightings. Once inside the Serengeti, begin your first game drive, spotting lions, elephants, and possibly early herds of wildebeests. Overnight at a lodge or tented camp in Central Serengeti.
Enjoy a full-day safari in Seronera Valley, one of the most wildlife-rich areas of the park. Known for year-round sightings of lions, leopards, cheetahs, and hyenas, it’s also a key corridor for the wildebeest migration from April to July. Spend the day tracking the herds, watching predator activity, and enjoying a picnic lunch in the wild. Overnight in the same camp/lodge.
After breakfast, you’ll travel deeper into the Serengeti to follow the current location of the wildebeest migration – either Ndutu in the south (for calving season) or Kogatende in the north (for Mara River crossings). Game drives along the way allow for wildlife photography and chances to see elephants, giraffes, and antelope. Arrive at your next safari camp near the herds. Overnight stay in a mobile or permanent tented camp.
Spend the entire day tracking the great migration herds. Depending on the month, you could witness:
🐃 Dramatic river crossings (Jul–Oct) with crocodile ambushes
🦁 Calving season with predator action (Jan–Mar)
🦓 Huge herds grazing through plains and valleys
This is the highlight of your 5 Days Serengeti Migration Safari, with endless photo opportunities and real-time movement of the herds. Overnight near the migration zone.
After an early breakfast and a short game drive, begin your return to Arusha via road or optional scenic flight. This ends your 5-day wildebeest migration safari, filled with incredible moments and unforgettable wildlife encounters.
